Functional Integration

Evan trained for 4 years at the Feldenkrais Institute in NYC to become a guild certified Feldenkrais Practitioner. A Functional Integration session is a one-on-one session, generally done on a table or in a chair. It is a practice in which the client (or student) remains fully clothed and whose body is moved passively by the practitioner (or teacher) in order to communicate to the nervous system about its learned tendencies in motion and possibilities for freer, more efficient, precise and spontaneous action. The goal of Functional Integration is not to impose changes on a person's system, but rather to introduce variety into their actions in a controlled environment and in the context of functionality so that the nervous system may see the benefit of changing and improve itself.. A change that can be much longer lasting and carry over into other aspects of life including social and emotional standings. With Awareness, a system has greater choice and greater choice means greater efficiency and freedom from habituated inhibition. With Awareness your actions can more accurately reflect your intentions - "When you know what you're doing, you can do what you want" - Moshe Feldenkrais, DSc. (Founder). Evan's pricing for one-on-one Feldenkrais Functional Integration sessions is as follows:
